Services Overview

At Planned Parenthood® , we provide a wide range of services to meet all of your reproductive health and family planning needs. We offer greatly reduced rates for all of our services, as well as discounts for clients who pay with cash and clients who are under 18. We accept most forms of insurance, Medicaid, and welcome self-pay clients as well.

*We now offer information and referrals for smoking cessation counseling through the free Quit Now Virginia program! Ask for more information at your appointment.

Annual Exams/Gynecological Care
From annual gynecological check-ups, to problem visits, to
screening for breast and cervical cancer utilizing both the bethesda
and thin prep Pap smears, to colposcopies and croysurgery for
abnormal Pap smears, we offer the full range
of gynecological health care to women of all ages.

Family Planning
PPSEV offers a wide range of family planning services, including
counseling, birth control including pills, Implanon, I.U.D.s,
condoms, shots and diaphragms, abortion services, adoption referrals and prenatal care.

H.O.P.E.
For women who are not comfortable with a gynecological exam just yet, PPSEV offers “Hormones with Optional Pelvic Exam” or “H.O.P.E.”, allowing women to receive birth control without a full exam.

Emergency Contraception
Once known as “the morning-after pill”, EC has now proven to be 89% effective for up to 3 days after unprotected sex occurs. PPSEV provides EC at a very affordable cost to anyone 17 and older without a prescription. Those younger than 17 can receive EC at our centers provided as a walk-in service with our nurse practitioner. We also now carry ella® which is prescription only, but is 85% effective in preventing pregnancy up to 5 days after unprotected sex.

Prenatal Care
PPSEV provides high-quality prenatal care to pregnant women age 16-34. We are only equipped to treat low-risk pregnancies, but can refer clients with high-risk pregnancies to another provider.

Adoption Referrals
We can provide many excellent referrals to our pregnant clients wishing to place their child for adoption. We also welcome these clients to utilize our high-quality, low-cost prenatal care program.

Permanent Birth Control
For couples considering permanent birth control, PPSEV offers Essure, an out-patient procedure for women without the anesthesia, recovery time or scar of a tubal ligation or vasectomy.

PPSEV provides testing and treatment for STDs/STIs, including OraQuick, a 20-minute preliminary screening for HIV.

Our limited services for men include testing and treatment for STDs/STIs, as well as testing for HIV. Men are welcome to visit us for other reproductive health problems, we are happy to make referrals.
