Gynecological Care

We provide routine and annual gynecological exams to women of all ages, including check-ups and screening for cervical and breast cancer.

When women come to us for an annual exam, it includes a pelvic exam, Pap test for cervical cancer, breast exam, blood pressure test and heart and lung exam. Most women have normal results for each test, and do not have to return for another year. However, some women do have abnormal breast exam or Pap test results.

Women with abnormal breast exams are referred to another
medical center that specializes in breast health. Women
with abnormal Pap tests are then tested for
Human Papillomavirus (HPV); more than 99% of the time,
the HPV virus has caused the abnormality. Depending on the grade of the cervical lesions found, the patient may require a colposcopy, and then cryosurgery or a LEEP procedure. Regardless of the patients' needs, PPSEV provides all follow-up care to ensure that invasive cervical cancer does not develop.

We also see women for problem visits, which can include any type of gynecological infection. These vaginal infections can include urinary tract infections (UTIs), yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis (BV) or others. Please call to make an appointment if you are having a problem, as we can often get patients in within 24-48 hours.
